The right only cares about government overreach when it affects them. Notice that when their were calls for racial profiling to be implemented at airport checkpoints, between 2001 and 2003ish, the right was eager and enthusiastic in its support.
It was only when they realized that these heavy-handed tactics are being applied uniformly, and even against upper middle class, read: white, frequent fliers, that the right finally became outraged.

Well AJ,
Not being from the right I was outraged from the beginning.
You really don’t get libertarians do you?
BTW I haven’t flown since about 1998. I will not be treated that way. And that was before 9/11. I always got the “extra” treatment. When wanded I only lifted one arm at a time. Think about it. And yes. The right arm was always held at the appropriate angle.

I don’t completely believe this . . but sure. But libertarians in general, expressed little to no outrage against prominent pundit allies (not libertarians, but still allies) who called for racial profiling in airports and elsewhere. Most of the outrage was of course, shoulder shrugging, because tax cuts are more important. We saw the culmination of this with the Tea Party (“Small government!”) inspire Shariah bill in Oklahoma.

I do, which is one of the reasons why I tire of them. Libertarians are hypocrites, who inevitably fall in line with the rest of the right-wing when push comes to shove.

Ah. Racial profiling. Yes. If you are going to have a TSA it is a good idea. Until people other than Islamics are recruited to blow themselves up.
What I favored from the beginning was arming pilots and strengthening the pilot cabin bulkheads.

Well if you mean that the right is generally more correct on more subjects that might explain it.
The left typically has a very difficult time with numbers. They can’t add and subtract.
The right is also more comfortable with weapons and the military mind. You know:
“If you want peace, prepare for war.”
The right also gets that most nations are outlaw biker gangs. And should be dealt with accordingly.
The left is generally more soft hearted which is a good thing. But they are also soft headed which is not.
The left is quite interesting in that regard. Ask them to evaluate drug prohibition and they can run it down in terms of economics and incentives as good as any right winger could on any other subject.
The right of course is full of wishful thinking and botched economics when it comes to prohibition.
Now take any other subject besides prohibition and the left totally botches the economics and incentives and the right is generally correct.
It is a wonder to behold.
If you are from the left perhaps you can explain it. The right I get. They hate drugs so much that they can’t think rationally. What makes the left (mostly) incapable of rational thought?

And this advanced what? Two snotty little would-be hipsters annoying working adults and making a “big point” about the, um, obvious.
You! Earring boy! Get a seasonal job at Walmart. You might learn something.
Tootsie with the long, long hair! Back to Starbucks, where you can talk about your degree in photography with the other barristas.

Cris,
I have been personally singled out by these people since before 911. I got wanded every single time I went on a flight (for business). I enjoyed seeing them get annoyed.
And they are not at work. Their job is “security theater”.
