This is not live blogging, but Marco Rubio’s speech at the GOP convention is just blowing me away.

He is saying what needs to be said and in a way that few say it, and I liked hearing him speak in Spanish. He is passionately, personally articulate in a way that inspires, especially about American exceptionalism. I’m sure a lot more will be said about this speech.

I liked Clint Eastwood’s speech too. He was very funny, and did a nice tactful job or reminding conservatives that they sorely need independents if they are going to win.

I think that if they can combine Eastwood’s advice, and Rubio’s inspiration, the Republicans can win.

MORE: Rubio made a gaffe. It’s obvious he meant the reverse of what he said (“we choose more government and less freedom”), and I sometimes do it too.
