Damn! Sunday is almost over and I never had time to write a damn thing. I hate it when that happens.
I did see a New York Times piece titled “What if the Secret to Success Is Failure?” and it is not a new topi here. (“…if the goal is to prevent success, first we must prevent failure. “Permitting failure is a kindness. Preventing failure is cruelty.“)
If you cannot fail, how can you succeed?
However, the educational system sees preventing failure as success. The key to success in education is preventing failure in students, and the easiest way to do that is to eradicate failure itself. But then, if preventing failure prevents success, then it followed that success in education lies in preventing success.
And unless you understand that, you have no business teaching, and you’ll probably have trouble getting a degree in Education.
