Paul Launches Assault On RomneyCare

(Note that the time shown in the image is GMT – heh)

Ron Paul is launching an all out attack on Mitt Romney and the socialized medicine plan he devised for Massachusetts.

This could be just round one for Paul.

It looks like Paul is only beginning to hit Romney on health care. Sandwiched between the title and the money on Paul’s website are the words “Round One.”

I’d love to see Romney knocked out early.

And just as a completely wacky aside I think 4 July 2011 would be a good day for Palin to announce. Something about America’s birth certificate maybe.

Re Ron Paul – for whatever reason, I’ve got a serious dislike of the man. The spamming Paulistas last election cycle really ticked me off and poisoned (in my mind) any potential good he could do.

And he reminds me of Ross Perot. Lots of ego, lots of attitude – wrapped in a “I’ll break the whole thing down and stomp around in the rubble” sort of political philosophy that’s kinda sorta attractive (especially in the current political climate where it’s getting more and more apparent that the majority of Ds and Rs are too willing to go with ‘business as usual’ as the operative mode) but also seems to be ignoring the consequences of said actions.

If they ever come about… because hasn’t HE been in Washington long enough to become infected with the Beltway Virus? (Wow. Political Zombies – what a concept. ‘Taxxessss…. Spendddingggg… Taxxessss… Spendddingggg’ – all the while shuffling after taxpayers with their hands outstretched…)

Romney? I thought he was a possible, until his AGW speech this last weekend. Now… I don’t know.

I’m not impressed by any of the announced candidates so far, except maybe Cain and we’ll see how far he gets. (I’m thinking not far – he’s too far off the PC reservation, which is a shame, and he’ll be dragged back in if it ruins him.) If Palin runs, she’ll get my money and vote. If she doesn’t, I’ll hode my noze and vote for the R – because we can’t afford another 4 years of Captain Clueless in the White House.

Palin has said that if she runs “it will certainly be unconventional” which sounds more like she has something other in mind.
    I’m betting on the unconventional.

Sitting at breakfast listening to the motley collection of good sports the other morning, the discussion turned to the Tea Party. It was the consensus that they’ve failed. After a massive vote of no confidence last November, with huge control of the House, they can’t even cut 1/10 of 1% from the budget. Someone summed it up by saying that they folded into the rotten stew of politics as usual. Disenchantment with The Tea Party.

July 4th? Why not the 2nd? That’s when the whole thing with the Declaration of Independence started. It just took another two days for congressional approval.

Palin could do another tweaking of the hair-trigger haters that are too clever by half if she carefully words it. She could do this whether she’s throwing her hat into the ring or acting as the ringmaster.

    AA,

Interesting thought. It all depends on how it would play out in the news cycle. The 2nd is a Saturday. The 4th is a Monday.

The 2nd builds Internet buzz. The 4th dominates the following week of news.

What ever she does (if she does) will be designed to reach a certain objective. Unknowable at this point. At least to outsiders.
