As you know I have covered the Sarah Palin Hong Kong speech in a previous post. Neil sent me an e-mail link to this take on her speech.
Melvin Goodé , a regional marketing consultant, thought Mrs. Palin chose Hong Kong because, he said, it was “a place where things happen and where freedom can be expanded upon.”
“It’s not Beijing or Shanghai,” said Mr. Goodé . “She also mentioned Tibet, Burma and North Korea in the same breath as places where China should be more sensitive and careful about how people are treated. She said it on a human-rights level.”
Mr. Goodé , an African-American who said he did some campaign polling for President Obama, said Mrs. Palin mentioned President Obama three times on Wednesday.
“And there was nothing derogatory in it, no sleight of hand, and believe me, I was listening for that,” he said, adding that Mrs. Palin referred to Mr. Obama as “our president,” with the emphasis on “our.”
Mr. Goodé a New Yorker who said he would never vote for Mrs. Palin, said she acquitted herself well.
“They really prepared her well,” he said. “She was articulate and she held her own. I give her credit. They’ve tried to categorize her as not being bright. She’s bright.”
Over a year of blackening Sara’s reputation down the tubes in one short quote.
I have always thought that the Democrats severely underestimated Sarah. Hopefully the Democrat politicians will stay stuck on stupid.

First they will claim that Palin didn’t write the speech.
How they will claim that she didn’t give it, either, I wait to see.
Incidentally, somebody should ask this Goode fellow if he refuses to vote for Palin out of racism or simple misogyny. My guess is both – “Bros before hos.”

So far Instapundit hasn’t covered the story. I sent him a link just after posting. You would think that the NYTs covering Goode/Palin would be big news. So far as I can tell CV/PaC are the only ones covering it.

I figured that the fact that an Obama voter said she was bright would be front page news.
Esp when it got ink in the NYTs.
Sarah Palin is not bright. She’s only capable of reading lines someone else has prepared for her. I’ve listened to her resignation ramblings, her interviews with Couric and Greta, and can’t find a logically connected synapse anywhere. She’s a doer, not a thinker.
That doesn’t excuse the vitriol directed at her from the likes of Sullivan or other mouthpieces of the left.
But you guys are really desperate & delusional if you think this babe is ever going to be first rate presidential material.

I’m sorry, you seem to have mistaken Barack Obama for Sarah Palin. I don’t know HOW, they don’t look anything alike.

Do not underestimate Sarah. She is not who you think she is. This is only the first move in the counterattack.

As usual time will tell. If she can convince an Obama voter (as reported in the NYTs!) that she is bright with one speech after all the negative publicity I think she has a good chance of converting independents and squishy Democrats.
I may have to revise my opinion of Sarah.
