The fact that racism lurks behind much of the gun control impulse is not a new topic at this blog.
Among the things I’ve discussed over the years have been my personal experience with gun control advocates; Clayton Cramer’s groundbreaking work on the subject (and his documentation that racist gun control efforts even included dog control); gun control’s disparate impact on black people; and Martin Luther King, Jr. application and rejection for a gun permit.
For those who are interested in examining the racist history of gun control in more detail, I just learned about a new video titled “No Guns for Negroes,” which does a great job of documenting the racist history of gun control, past and present.

Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership. And you know Jews ought to know something about that. And yet most of them in America are deep into the anti-gun rights movement. Go figure.
I brought up how the War On Drugs was leading to the War On Guns to the JPFO a number of years ago. It looks like they have taken the message to heart.

There’s an additional link; the National Firearms Act of 1934 was intentionally modeled on the Harrison Narcotic Act of 1906, because Congress lacked authority to directly regulate either drugs or guns except through the tax stamp method. U.S. v. Miller (1939) cites Nigro v. U.S., the law upholding the Harrison Act.
It seems that the apparent conspiracy to conceal the Vitamin D deficiency epidemic also impacts African Americans disproportionately, fueling the race differential in everything from school performance, to longevity, to the incidence of diseases common and rare.
