Selected Not Elected

Hillary Clinton called for the selection of Obama as the Democrat Party nominee for President.

“In the spirit of unity, with the goal of victory, with faith in our party and our country, let’s declare in one voice, right here, right now, that Barack Obama is our candidate and that he will be our next president,” Clinton said. “Madame Secretary, I move that the convention suspend the procedural rules and suspend the further conduct of the roll-call vote, all votes cast by the delegates will be counted, and I move Senator Barack Obama of Illinois be selected by this convention by acclamation as the nominee of the Democratic Party.”

I guess that lets Bush off the hook.

I heard that audio clip of Hillary and my inner Kremlinologist started breaking down just how much of a slap it was to the delegates and presumed nominee.
“spirit of unity” — “Screw all y’all, you picked the wrong man for the job.”
“all votes cast by the delegates will be counted” — “Your little savior over there who would have easily ignored two states to suit his purposes. If you don’t fall in line, he’ll cut you out of the picture faster than Bill or I would have. Honest.”
“selected by this convention” — “You had your chance. I stayed in the race to get you to think straight. Now, choke on your nominee. I suggest that everyone listening to me who switched their delegate votes prior to my photo-op should sleep with one eye open.”
