The photo is cropped. Kerry had just headed a soccer ball during a visit to some school or other. In the original picture the ball is about six inches above his head. I’m trying to find the link but no luck so far…
I found it in Drudge; it’s also here. Of course context is everything! (I used the playful title “No Bounce?” because this picture has been around and I thought everyone would recognize it.)
