Follow The Constitution

Here is a link to The County Sheriff America's Last Hope. Here is a description:

Sheriff Mack's newest book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsibility to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government. History, case law, common law and common sense all show clear evidence that the sheriff is the people's protector in all issues of injustice and is responsible for keeping the peace in all matters. He is the last line of defense for his constituents; he is America's last hope to regain our forgotten freedom. This short but powerful book is a must read for all citizens, sheriffs, and government officials that we may all work to return America to the constitutional republic she was meant to be. Amazing as it might be, the sheriff can make this happen!
Now how about that Supreme Court Case? Mack, Printz, vs UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

And the oath that service men and women take?

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
Now what about the Oath Keepers?

You can find out more about them at Oath Keepers.

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, peace officers, and firefighters who will fulfill the oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our motto is "Not on our watch!"

Don't Tread On Me

I was in a conversation just the other day where the Oath of Enlistment came up, and I realized in that moment that the oath I took many years ago (unlike my enlistment contract) did not come with an expiration date.

Small world.

Most of the sheriffs in my region are mainly interested in conducting the drug war and looting the citizenry through civil forfeiture.

I would be surprised if any of them cared a fig for my rights.

It has been funny watching leftists go after Sheriff Joe Arpaio and watching him laugh in their faces.
And get re-elected.

Veeshir   ·  August 13, 2009 12:46 PM

Actually, it hasn't been "leftists" per se.

At least some in Bush's camp said bad things about him too.

I should have said, "The pro-amnesty crowd".

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is scum of the earth. He lives within the letter of the law. He does not honor the spirit.

He is a prohibitionist of the first order and treats the people he arrests as badly as he can get away with.

I fully believe he would actively torture people if he could get away with it instead of the passive stuff he does.

M. Simon   ·  August 13, 2009 01:18 PM

Well, his constituents, the people who know him best, disagree with you.

Nice touch on the torture bit though. Way to demonize the guy.

You have anything to back that up?

Veeshir   ·  August 13, 2009 07:04 PM

Before we get all misty-eyed about the people, recall that most of our unconstitutional legislation is just dandy with the majority of them.

Brett   ·  August 13, 2009 10:44 PM

Joe would feed his prisoners hog slops if he thought he could get away with it. The fact that he keeps getting re-elected says something about the voters in his district. Nothing good.

And he just loves the drug war. It brings him a steady supply of dollars.
