House Republicans In Revolt Over Energy Bill
Breaking News: House Republican are holding an after session session to try to get House Speaker Democrat Nancy Pelosi to bring the House Back in Session to debate the Republican plan to open the waters of the Outer Continental Shelf of the US for oil exploration and production. Speaker Pelosi has ordered the lights, air conditioning, and CSPAN shut off. Here are some quotes from the links below provided by the commenters at Just One Minute. Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said the dimly lit chamber is a "vision of the future by the Democrat Party: The lights are out, there's no power, and the air conditioning is gonna go off soon."House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking Dems turn out the lights but GOP won't go home Part II GOP talkathon Part III: No shirt? Hard to see a win here for the GOP. The MSM will ignore them and they will soon get tired of talking to themselves in an empty Capitol. If Bush and the GOP Congressional people coordinated on tactics they might get somewhere. But I am not sure if they actually know each other. Pelosi is clever. If they irritate her too much she will somehow get the building locked and the utilities turned off. Obama may weaken her hand if he decides to demand oil drilling. Who knows what he will do from day-to-day. When the Olympics start, followed by a hurricane or two, and the conventions, no one will notice the GOP holdouts in D.C.
