Who Will Stand With Us?

I visit many sites on the 'net in the course of a day. And I see this kind of sentiment a lot:

I do not intend to send one penny until I know who the VP candidate is. I, too, would very much like it to be Mitt.

From what I can tell only the RINOs are supporting the party now in its hour of need.

They will own it. Which is good.

These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Thomas Paine

As my friend Eric the RINO says: I have supported the nominee with money and time no matter what. No matter the stand on issues dear to my heart. What is wrong with the so called party faithful?

The Communists are pouring money into Obama's campaign and you will let McCain down because he is not Right enough for you? Because his VP choice is not announced?

As is so often found in the Bible, there are always some who will betray the city out of a sense of pique. Sad to find so many like that in so many places.

I think the Commies are too busy buying up any remaining profitable assets in America to care about our election.

Puddin' Head McCain winning would facilitate China's rise to sole superpower status a little quicker though, maybe they're slipping him a few bucks?

I thought they had Clinton in their pocket.

Perhaps as you say they are hedging their bets.

The Islamics are backing Obama.

In any case the Chinese will be running out of steam in 10 or 15 years due to the aging of their population. A narrow window of opportunity as history goes. I don't think they will get the job done before they crash.

I thought about it, but instead I'm contributing to individual candidates in competitive House and Senate races. I think the POTUS can do less damage without a radical-left Democrat-controlled Congress.

M. Simon, you're generous to China. IMO, their window of opportunity is smoke and mirrors, the China surge mostly hype. The one-child policy is already causing an imbalance in boy-girl ratio (and a growing number of pissed off celibate teenage boys) and will soon start to destabilize families. Societal collapse is inevitable (local revolts are growing exponentially)--maybe that's the part you think they have 15 years for. I could agree on that.

The Chinese could still take over the world through sheer numbers, but they will do that without China, not with or through it.

tim,

Thanks! I have been meaning to blog that. You have given me some incentive.

heather,

Of course an R Congress could restrain the President. What about Iraq?
