Some day, this campaign will end....
Earlier I was thinking about how contentious things are getting, but then I reminded myself how in just a year there will be a new president, and whoever it is will have just been sworn in! Unless the election was another ballot-counting cliffhanger, in theory that would mean that the election will be completely behind us, and everyone can get started on the business of attacking the president. In other words, things will get back to normal.

You're right, JLawson. We have reached the point where a "campaign season" no longer exists, only ups and downs in the intensity of the perpetual campaign.
