Traditional South Park Values!
I'm probably missing something, but I just discovered (via WND, which discusses the Danish cartoons here) that an episode of "South Park" depicted Muhammad, and has been shown -- for years -- without complaint. An episode of South Park, the controversial American cartoon show, which featured a visual portrayal of the prophet Mohammed, has been screened on British television twice and can currently be viewed on the internet. Here's an image from the show (which can be streamed here): Does this mean we can all get along? posted by Eric on 02.05.06 at 11:10 AM

Darleen, thanks. You're right about American Muslims, but why didn't British muslims object? According to the article I linked, that episode has been running in England for years. If I stumbled upon this item without looking for it, imagine what else might be out there. Most of the time American moslems are as assimilated into American culture as any other religion. They've learned to react to such satire with either ignoring it, or writing a few pointed columns or angry letters.
In Europe, where 'multi-culturalism' means never even asking 'The Other' to embrace the native culture, they are learning that the merest 'insult' is met with the same reaction as someone who doesn't have the correct answer to the gangbanger's challenge "where you from?"
CAIR is getting bolder in going after any 'insults' -- ie my local radio station, KFI, morning host Bill Handel is currently in their sights for making light of deaths at Mecca.
