I've heard people say that The finitude of life is a blessing for every individual, whether he knows it or not. I wish to make the case for the virtues of mortality. But I don't know about that... If the life span were increased-say by twenty years-would the pleasures of life increase proportionately? There's many times that we've loved How deeply could one deathless “human” being love another? We've shared love and made love Would the Don Juans of our world feel better for having seduced 1,250 women rather than 1,000? There are very few people who've been around a long time who see anything with fresh eyes. There's just not enough of it... Mortality makes life matter. posted by Justin on 01.17.06 at 07:20 AM |
