On the road . . .
So blogging will be light for the next few days. But hopefully, not nonexistent; I have a new aircard for my laptop. Thanks everyone! posted by Eric on 01.09.05 at 06:07 AM

I don't think Ann is necessarily "bad" for conservatism, but you have to admit, she does go over the top enough times she leaves a rather large door open for charges that she is, minimally, bigotted. (ie the 'forcibly convert 'em to Christianity' schtick that got her bounced from NRO, IIRC) There are just sometimes we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard that the people we criticise. Darleen · January 9, 2005 05:39 PM I'll second Darleen. Ann Coulter's excesses give the left something to magnify and treat as central to their opposition. Al Franken, for example, will tell you more about what's wrong with Ann Coulter than what's wrong with Republicans or conservatives et al. The average person sees people like Ann Coulter as typical of the right and that's a shame. Dennis · January 10, 2005 12:57 PM |

Originally intended for Savage article linked by Mr. Reynolds.
You agree with, or at least let pass without comment, a statement that compares Ann Coulter to Micheal Savage.
While I certainly have no love for Savage, what exactly is wrong with Ann Coulter?
The fact that she uncovered FDR and Truman's dirty laundry of keeping half of the Soviet spies in America on State or Defense Dept. payrolls for years - AFTER being told who they were?
The fact that her books revealed the depths of Leftist control of many universities? I mena one of the more expensive NE colleges has a department chair NAMED after a man convicted of LYING about being a Soviet spy. Note he said he was not.
Maybe Coulter is bad for conservatives because she revealed that some NY Democrats tried to smear Alger Hiss' most dangerous accuser by claiming he was pining for his incestuous, homosexual relationship with his brother, and really wanted to die.
So why is Ann Coulter 'bad' for conservatism?
