A Note To Republicans

Representative Jim McGovern of Massachusetts who will soon become the Chairman of the House Rules Committee had this to say.

“This just seems like common-sense stuff,” McGovern said. “Especially on the issue of medical marijuana — people who are opposed to that are just on the wrong side of public opinion, overwhelmingly. It’d be nice if, every once in a while, Congress acted in a way that people wanted. I know that may seem like a radical idea, but come on.

I think he was alluding to Congressional Corruption.

Republicans should listen to the voters more. Or some one else will.

Simon, I’m curious what you think of the new much more potent strains of marijuana. The THC content is extremely high compared to the stuff back in our day, and of course you have the distilled oil and liquid concentrates now as well. Any reservations?

As you know I live in an area of northern California adjacent to the old Emerald Triangle. Last year county governments here about spent federal grant money to raid every backyard grow they could find. (Thank you Jeff Sessions!) Fines were levied and lawsuits filed by the victims claiming the intent of California’s legalization law was ignored. The suits are working their way through the state courts in Sacramento now.

The interesting thing about all the raids is that NONE of the medium size grows which are clearly visible from the air were raided. Most of them in this area are Asian/Hmong out of Sacramento and southern Oregon. One about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from my place (close enough you could smell it) was never raided, either last year or this. A Google search showed about 200 plants mixed into Buck’s brush on a 40 acre parcel. Never touched. I wonder why? (snark)
