If we don’t do something to fix the glaring inequities in this economy, the pitchforks are going to come for us. No society can sustain this kind of rising inequality. In fact, there is no example in human history where wealth accumulated like this and the pitchforks didn’t eventually come out. You show me a highly unequal society, and I will show you a police state. Or an uprising. There are no counterexamples. None. It’s not if, it’s when.
But the elites have a perfect counter strategy.

Said by James Traub at Foreign Policy. But the elites rise up? The best they can do is hire more bodyguards. I don’t think that will help much.
And we do have a data point
Americans from across the economic and political spectrum — 71 percent of them — think the U.S. economic system is “rigged” in favor of certain groups.
The cronies are backing the crone. Not being so privileged I’m backing Trump.

The Left’s mask covering their totalitarian tendencies hasn’t just slipped this year, events have led them to rip off the mask themselves. It’s clear the Left doesn’t see the people as sovereign nor do they respect the political process and the judgment of the voters. It’s clear that the only real totalitarian threat in the USA at this moment resides on the Left side of the political divide.
I just hope enough voters recognize this before it’s too late.
