Much Better Than Viagra

Some of you may recall my little ditty from early 2005, Better Than Viagra.

I now have something to add and that includes some science. CBDs from cannabis do the job and don’t get you high. CBD is legal in all 50 states. But first the science.

Hypercholesterolemia is one of the most important risk factors for erectile dysfunction, mostly due to the impairment of oxidative stress and endothelial function in the penis. The cannabinoid system might regulate peripheral mechanisms of sexual function; however, its role is still poorly understood.

==

In summary, CB2 activation decreased histological features, which were associated with erectile dysfunction in hypercholesterolemic mice.

Mice? So far the best I can do for humans is anecdotes.

…studies have shown that CBD oil alone will help with these things, but isn’t guaranteed if still mixed with THC in marijuana strains. So while many people like the “sexy” feeling they get when they get high with marijuana” the THC seems to be counterproductive when it comes to ED.

When CBD and THC are together, THC will overpower the CBD in some situations and have the reverse affect. Many men have claimed that CBD oil alone will prevent Erectile Dysfunction and boost their performance and endurance, but because of THC’s psychoactive nature, marijuana will have the opposite effect. This is why it is recommended to stick with pure CBD oil…

Here is a short article (a comment really) that provides some general knowledge about CBD.

The objections to cannabis in our culture are most pronounced in the over 65 set. If CBD works as the anecdotes suggest, I expect that the objections to cannabis in that age group will decline markedly. Here is an article suggesting that such a decline may very well be underway.

    What is the legal situation for CBD, is it still considered marijuana? What is it about pot that specifically makes it illegal? The presence of THC, just its DNA, or something else? What if the CBD were chemically synthesized from innocuous precursors, no marijuana or its DNA or THC anywhere near the process?

    Another thing I don’t get – boomers who smoked plenty when they were young who still want pot to be illegal. Unless all of these ex-hippies want to give themselves as examples of the havoc pot use caused in their own lives these lawyers, writers, talk show hosts, stock brokers and business executives really don’t have much of an argument.

    A 60 year old friend of mine recently told me he’s been using cannabis daily since late January.

    After about 3 weeks use he said his arthritis pain began to subside. After about 5-6 weeks daily use he said the pain was completely gone and he tells me he’s been pain free since the middle of March. The MMJ literature says cannabis has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. My friend can attest to this for sure.

    He also told me that his sex life has improved considerably since using daily for about 4 months now. He told me the wood has stiffened up considerably the last few months. He says his wife is quite happy with the results of his cannabis use. He’s friskier around the house and in bed! LOL

    I know this person quite well and trust that he is telling things straight. So there you go. Anecdotal evidence, I know. But evidence none the less.
