This is absolutely amazing:. DEA Approves First-Ever Trial Of Medical Marijuana For PTSD In Veterans. And it is not just Medical Marijuana. It is Smoked Medical Marijuana
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has formally approved the first-ever randomized controlled trial of whole plant medical marijuana (cannabis) as a treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in U.S. veterans. The DEA’s approval marks the first time a clinical trial intended to develop smoked botanical marijuana into a legal prescription drug has received full approval from U.S. regulatory agencies, including the DEA and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled study will test the safety and efficacy of botanical marijuana in 76 U.S. military veterans with treatment-resistant PTSD. The study is funded by a $2.156 million grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to the California-based non-profit Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), which is sponsoring the research.
Another article on the DEA change of heart (well only policy for sure).
There are plenty of anecdotes (from a US Government site no less) about smoked cannabis working for PTSD. If the study pans out (likely) it will change a LOT of things.

One may hope. I’d like to see a LOT of studies on different things, but even one is good.
Mind you, I can’t smoke it. I seem to have a negative reaction to the smoke. But I’ve seen it help others. And someone made me a nice tea about 40 years ago that didn’t give me any problems.
Vaporizing might not cause any problem for you or others with a similar reaction to smoke. It provides quicker relief than tea would.
Vapes, edibles, dabs, you don’t actually have to smoke, as such.
There was an article in High Times once where they tried some government grown, harvested and packaged weed. Conclusion was it’s real crap. I hope these PTSD sufferers have access to something better.
Question: is it the THC or the CBD or something else which helps?
My slight philosophical with any of this is I like getting stoned, no medical need. If it gets treated as medicine recreational use becomes as illegal as any “misuse” of prescription drugs.
MMM,
It might be the THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids together.
