My take is: Trump is panicking the people who own the government. And what do you call a system where rich people own the government? An oligarchy.

My #2 son (UChicago graduate) and I were discussing politics when he last visited. He said Sanders and Trump were driven by the same essential disconnect. The people no longer feel represented by their government. I agreed with him.
