Bacon is a religious issue!

Really?

Apparently so.

I always thought bacon was a food implicating little more than what a person might like (or not like) to eat, but what do I know?

I also thought sexual tastes were that, too.

When Christians wonder why they and their religion isn’t held in the esteem it once had in this nation, all they need to do is listen to or read almost anything said or written by Bryan Fischer. The man is a gold mine of Christian dominionist idiocy. And unfortunately, he is not alone in his idiocy.

Just last week, Fischer penned an article where he tries to make the case that atheists should not be allowed to serve in the nation’s armed forces. Luckily, I’m quite certain that very few Christians, in or out of the military, agree with his patently bigoted views towards atheists and military service. Link:

You mean you didn’t know that Jesus died to save our bacon?

Actually, if being Christian is becoming a prerequisite for eating bacon, I foresee an enormous need for new pews. After all, it’s the gateway meat!

Leverage or Leviticus? Rock and a hard place?

My lover, _od bless her soul, used to tell me stories of foraging for bacon with neighbors in the morning. Back in the days when coffee clatches still existed.

She also had sexual tastes that probably offended _od, too.

A way long time ago Christians used to be Jewish. But you know. People forget what happened yesterday let alone some 1700 or 2000 years ago.
