Law enforcement does NOT need military equipment. The job of the military is to fight the enemies of the state. The job of police is to enforce the law . When the police becomes like the military the enemies of the state tend to become the people.
The NRA needs to stick to protecting the rights of gun owners, not encouraging the militarization of our police. When they train and dress for war, then they treat every situation like it is a War Zone.

conservatives didn’t complain about police actions against black militants in the 1960’s and 70’s or kent state. the police need the ability to eradicate nra militia fascists when necessary now that we are on the dishing out end instead of the receiving end. pastor wilhelm neimoller had some words of wisdom for you check him out!

I think that opposing the militarization of our police is standing against tyranny. Whatever the LEO failings of the 60’s and 70’s, they aren’t relevant to the police militarization problems of today. It was the campus unrest, the rioting, and the domestic groups that advocated for armed revolution in those times that prompted the government responses of the day.
And need I remind you that Democrats controlled both houses of Congress from the 60’s to the early 80’s. And from 1960 to 1980, the Nixon/Ford years were the only time a Republican was in the WH. The only real connection from those times to today’s police militarization issue is drug prohibition, which is a carryover from those times.
The 60’s and 70’s are over. Your need for some retribution for those days clouds your judgment on today’s issues.
