Since my last post on the subject, I finally had a breakthrough with my 3D metal printer.
For weeks now, I have been trying every possible variation of every possible combination of every possible code setting in every possible firmware, and yesterday I finally managed to get lucky.
Here it is, running G-code for an actual part (in dry mode):
It has really been insane. Like looking for a needle in a haystack by carefully examining each piece of straw.
From here it’s all uphill.

Very nice! I need to get a cool hobby.
Very nice.
So, what was the problem?
And I know your other piece gave a link to your inspiration, but do you have a detailed build log anywhere? CNC forum posts or anything?
I am just about to order all the bits for either a 4′ X 4′ CNC router or a 4′ X 8′ version. (I have some ideas for the 4X8 version, but I don’t know if I can justify the extra expense without a better plan.)
You will at least need to post updates as you build the rest of the unit. Metal printing you said? Would love to see the results. All the metal work I’ve looked into involves 3D printing for lost-wax casting. Involves a 3D printer and all the extra bits for the casting (kiln/crucible/etc.)
