Will You Get A New SS Number?

There is a Joe from HuffPo who says you do not need to be worried about hackers at the ObamaCare(less) site because hacking happens all the time. So true.

OK. Suppose the government loses your Social Security number to hackers. Will they do what credit card companies do and issue you a new one? How long will that take? Will they bother to inform you that your information has been hacked? Will they even know it has been hacked?

I wonder if anyone thought this through?

They’re causing chaos, I just can’t figure out if it’s on purpose or if they are just that stupid.

    No.

You will find out when the IRS suddenly targets you for taxes on income you never had, sends a bill for penalties and interest to an address you never lived at, and then levies against you for “ignoring” the notices you never got!

(If I sound bitter, it’s based on my personal experience.)

So, I have a question. Let’s say I buy health insurance through Obamacare, but buy identity theft insurance from Lifelock so I can do so safely (Lifelock being a big advertiser on conservative talk radio).

Does that cancel out both politically and security-wise?
