Budget Deal Tactics

The Republicans have made a budget deal. Some Republicans are not happy.

A number of well-funded outside groups, notably the Club for Growth, Heritage Action and FreedomWorks, have blasted the plan as insufficiently conservative and vowed to punish Republican lawmakers who support it.

These Republican groups have their donors to think about of course. But making a budget deal is a smart move. Tactically.

The government shutdown, as many Republicans will attest now, was a flop that failed to achieve the stated goal of defunding or delaying President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul. Because the new budget deal sets spending levels until 2015, it eliminates the possibility of shutdown battles over the next few years, which serves as a welcomed relief to Democrats and Republicans alike.

And why is it smart? Because it gives Republicans the chance to focus on a winning election strategy. Opposing ∅bamaCare(less). As even some Democrats are doing.

And her previous position?

With Democrats running against themselves it is no wonder Republicans want the focus on ∅bamaCare(less). Here is a nice opposition ad:

Expect to see a lot more like it come election season.

Fortunetly tea baggers are evil and self destructive and that is are advantage over them! I have tell my liberal friends they are as smart as us and maybe even smarter and are only advantage over them is that they are evil and self destructive as they are proving with this so called budget deal which is a total surrender by democrats: more defense spending no unemployment insurance extension and cuts to social safety net this is a compromise? This is less spending then paul ryans budget proposed! And tea bagger scum is already calling it a sell out we don’t want this sell out called a compromise!

Good of them to keep the heat on.

Good of you to come around with your eliminationist rhetoric.

Good of ∅bama to tell such obvious lies.

Misses the point. Once again we come to crunch time, and once again we (oh, yes, always for a “smart” political reason) hammer out a compromise that results in spending going up. This one renders the sequestration null and void, and assures that there will be no future sequestrations.

And this is so we can concentrate on “winniing elections?” Based on past performance, let me ask one uncomfortable question: “Winning elections in order to do fucking what, exactly?”

And BTW, where did you find your new clown? I want one in pink, please. Complete with the puppet strings.

It’s sad that people who pretend to give a damn about how all this will turn out mock the idea of “winning elections” by putting this fundamental reality in scare quotes as though reality is some trivial thing to be overcome by earnest umbrage…or a mighty fart from Pegasus.

mock the idea of “winning elections”

So the GOP had the House, the Senate and the WH for what, 5-6 years? And exactly how much reduction in government and spending did we see? I’m excluding appropriates for the war with Iraq here and concentrating on spending.

    ::crickets::

Yeah. Until or unless the GOP leadership changes, we’ll be stuck with guys like the old guard Frist and such. So we bitch about giving the farm away. Again. Compromise in DC always, always, always means higher spending, more taxes and bigger government. Sure, the Democrat Socialist party is worse. So what? I expect to be screwed by them. I’ve long assumed that the party that claims to be for smaller government actually means it. Turns out that they do not.

Don’t worry you won’t be winning elections. Every month over 100,000 minority kids turn 18 voting age and everyone hating republicans as much as I do! also 20,000 republican die and go to join the devil and burn in hell! You do the math teabaggers! You might get minor gains in 2014 ;but your own gerrymandering leaves less then 20 democrat house seats in districts that aren’t 55% democrat or more!

Do the math yourself, Marxist cocksucker. (If you can call us Teabaggers – a sexual act – then I don’t see why returning the favor is not perfectly appropriate).

Anyway, how well did your math turn out in 2010? Let’s see how well it turns out for you cocksuckers in 2014 and 2016.

Looking forward to hearing your impotent screams of rage.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Teabagger
