Thank you, Veterans!

Today is Veterans Day. For years it was a bit of a tradition for me to always call an old friend who was a WWII vet, but this is the first Veterans Day without him. Longtime co-blogger M. Simon is a veteran and he has an interesting war-related post up today. While I’m of course grateful to him for blogging at CV all these years, I am also grateful to him and all veterans for their military service. As it’s Veterans Day, it’s a good time to say, “Thank you, M. Simon, for your service to the country.”

I found this on Facebook and thought it belonged here:

He and his generation saw the country go through far worse times than we’re going through now, and helped it survive.

We are all in the debt of veterans.

Conservative veiw of veterans Thanks for your service! Because that doesn’t cost any money for better health care and pay for veterans in fact they want to cut benefits for veterans and service men and women to give more tax breaks for the rich! When have you heard speaker boner say lets raise taxes to give better pay, benefits and health care to are veterans ? Or any tea bagger republican for that matter ? They might agree to take the money spent on children with cancer and use that as long as it doesn’t raise taxes on the rich!

Wonderful gaffe here, in the way of accidentally telling the truth. We are in the debt of veterans, and that generation more than none laid the foundation for the trouble we are in, which is far worse than that in WWII. More than none other, theirs is the 220 trillion in unfunded liabilities we are going to be crushed under in one fashion or another.

We are in debt to veterans.

And we are under their debt as well.
