I cannot forget an awful occasion

I do not like the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The date represents more than a notorious and murderous attack on America by our enemies, but it was a turning point in U.S. history, and for the worse. The lasting legacy of 9/11 is not merely a loss of life and damage to the economy, but an incalculable loss of freedom, evidence of which can be seen on a daily basis. The use of militarized police and SWAT Teams for routine warrants and mundane victimless crimes, the perpetuation and expansion of massive data bases on the details of Americans’ personal lives, and the grotesque misuse of spy agencies like the NSA to share data with domestic law enforcement — all that and more were encouraged and made possible by what is called the “post-9/11” mentality, as well as unconstitutional legislation (Patriot Act, Homeland Security, etc.) which has reached out and touched nearly everyone. Yes, and I do mean touched; the TSA claims the right to reach out and touch even our genitalia, and they want to be able to do so even if we decide we’d rather not stand in their squalid airport lines.)

I could go on, but my point is, it’s a horrible, horrible legacy. The terrorists (whom we can no longer ridicule or even call Islamic terrorists or even jihadists, lest we run afoul of the post 9/11 dhimmi-sensitivity rules) did not do these things. They brought down buildings and killed people, but the American government has done an excellent job of bringing down freedom.

So, I think the occasion of 9/11 sucks, and I say this not to demean or disrespect America in any way (I am flying my flag today), but I see nothing but bad that has come out of the attacks, and much of that was done by Americans to Americans.

The enemy, of course, is still out there whether anyone wants to admit it or not, and they would love to kill more Americans.

Like it or not (and I don’t like it), we have to remember.

They do not hate us for are freedom they hate us because we keep bombing them and killing their children! History did not start on 9-11 2001! 9-11 was not an attack it was a COUNTER-ATTACK! Stop bombing them and they will stop bombing us!
