Tunnel Vision

Going through a tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike earlier.

I’m back, and exhausted.

MORE: Not my video, but this was also nice to listen to in the car.

So nice that it still resonates…

And so was this:

After 70 years, the Pennsylvania Turnpike hasn’t upgraded to either 1)tunnels with two lanes in each direction or 2)tunnels with traffic in only one direction?
Or was this a temporary situation while the other tunnel was being worked on?

When I was a child my family made many trips across Pennsylvania on the Turnpike, but I haven’t been on the Turnpike for 40 years. The last time I drove through Pennsylvania I took I-81 and I-84.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike was at the time of its construction, state of the art.

    gringo,

they’re probably working on the other tunnel because all the tunnels on 76 are traffic separated

Hi Eric! I like your idea of ending the culture war by restoring classical values.

I myself rejected maistream American culture several years ago when I adopted a classical culture and moved to India to study the 6 schools of Hindu philosophy, specifically Vedanta, and take up a meditation practice and fully immerse myself in that particular classical school of thought and culture.

What a “culture shock” I got when I returned to the States to spread the good news of classical yogic and vedantic values here!

Well, I’ve recovered from the shock and am pleased to say that many Americans are fed up with the shallowness and materialism of the West and are taking deeply and sincerely to Vedantic philosophy and values.

But I am sad to see that on a blog that espouses classical values like yours’ in your blog role are links to the typical mainstream courseness of this pornified American culture.

“The Bitch Girls” – gee, how classy.

“Stacked & Packed” have naked women to advertise what exactly? Classical values?

This is why I left this country a long time ago. I didn’t like the ever increasing courseness and pornification.

I’d leave again but I feel that out of compassion I must try and help these people, “my people”, come out of the deepest darkest well of ignorance.
