It seems that the Tsarnaev brothers’ mom is just your typical normal American mom who learned all about 9/11 on the Internet:
Kilzer wrote that Tsarnaeva was a loving and supportive mother, and she felt sympathy for her plight after the April 15 bombings. But she stopped visiting the family’s home for spa treatments in late 2011 or early 2012 when, during one session, she “started quoting a conspiracy theory, telling me that she thought 9/11 was purposefully created by the American government to make America hate Muslims.”
“It’s real,” Tsarnaeva said, according to Kilzer. “My son knows all about it. You can read on the Internet.”
Oh! In that case, I guess I’ve been duped.
I mean, if it’s on the Internet — and especially if it is promoted by Alex Jones (of whom Ma Tsarnaev was a fan) — then it’s got to be true.
Especially if it’s what you want to believe.
(If only this mom weren’t so disturbingly typical…)

apple pieAlex Jones”The thing that gets me about that is not “the Government did 9/11!” – I can understand believing that at some level.
It’s the idea (and a similar one happens with the “they did 9/11 so they could invade Iraq and stuff!*” idea) that the Government staged 9/11 to “get us to hate muslims” … but then spent the last 12 years doing nothing but telling us “the enemy is not Islam” and “the vast majority of Muslims are fine people” and the like. (True things, but counter to the alleged goal!)
The idea that the State did this giant hyper-competent murderous conspiracy to support an end they then took zero effort to further is baffling; if the State wanted to Make Us Hate Muslims, you’d think they’d put at least token effort into doing so, and not the opposite.
(* The problem with that one is imagining a State that could and would stage the 9/11 attacks to justify invading Iraq but then couldn’t or wouldn’t just plant some WMDs.
That makes no sense.)
