The UN Objects To Colorado

It seems the UN objects to Drug Legalization in Colorado and Washington.

A United Nations-based drug agency urged the United States government on Tuesday to challenge the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in Colorado and Washington, saying the state laws violate international drug treaties.

The International Narcotics Control Board made its appeal in an annual drug report. It called on Washington, D.C., to act to “ensure full compliance with the international drug control treaties on its entire territory.”

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said last week that he was in the last stages of reviewing the Colorado and Washington state laws.

Someone here suggested I wouldn’t like that. Here was my reply (revised and extended):

Actually I do like it. It alienates the left from the UN and gets the right to reflexively support an issue I am passionate about.

It also makes the left and right allies when it comes to American Liberty. A point that I have been making here for a few days. States Rights.

In any case The UN doesn’t understand the US. We are 50 STATES protected by the Federal Government from outside interference.

And what can the Federales do? Deputize local police forces in the War On Drugs? Well that would bring a few things into the open wouldn’t it? We owe the people of Colorado and Washington a huge debt of gratitude. Perhaps America is not lost after all. Thanks to the UN.

Update: Well the Federales HAVE deputized local police forces in the War On Drugs.
