The news biz is a business.
Their product is not news but you. They sell your eyes to advertisers.
People don’t want hard news except for one-off events. Think city council meetings.
So hard news can’t pay the daily bills.
There is one group that comes every day news or no news, though, and it’s fairly large: soap opera women.
This is the MSM demographic.
Nothing will run that will lose the interest of soap opera women, lest they tune away. News is rewritten if necessary.
Familiar narratives rule.
All those talking heads are not stupid. They’re running a business.
All that’s ridiculous is that they get to keep the serious news posture through decades of this crap.
The MSM as it seems to me is perfectly portrayed by this page
