Taxing Schizophrenics

I did a post on the new tobacco taxes. I mentioned in passing that schizophrenics smoke a LOT of tobacco.

This measure then is a huge

tax on schizophrenics.

    Fascinating. We can’t really know to what extent nicotine works for many Schizotypal personalities. It may well prevent experiencing unusual perceptions/illusions, or the development of paranoia, magical thinking, or other odd beliefs that cause dysfunctional behavior. Psychiatrists see few who find their own path to functionality. That doesn’t mean there aren’t many.
