Constant Crisis

My friend Karridine has a new update from Bangkok. He has some news on what he has been doing with the money you have sent. Send him some more. BkkFloodHelp(at)Gmail-dot-com

======================

Another week, another million cubic meters pass over the sandbags and around the retainer walls, showing the people of Bangkok that SOME areas get good drainage, and SOME areas are left to drown…

Well, after using $155 for vegetables, cooking materials and charcoal (when the electricity was out around us) for feeding 4 family groups; and $65 for bricks and concrete for retainer walls to keep out rising water; and $34 for drinking water (bottled, cheap but more expensive than usual) for 4 families for a week (and making it last 10 days); and another $46 for sanitary, medicinal, pharmaceutical and transportation, we’re down to nubs again as two job offers were flooded out (students couldn’t reach one, and the school for the other is STILL closed)…

For the world out there, our problem moves off the headlines and shrinks in the mind of the world… undersea earthquake, with tsunami warnings near Indonesia… North Korea allowing TOURISTS, quick before Lil Kim dies… Iran rattling sabres and the toothless UN issuing toothless ‘sternly worded warnings’ to that psychotic dwarf steering Iran toward its debut as the second nation to have some bottled sunlight unleashed upon it… while the Holy Land tells Barry Soetoro & Gang that it will NOT pre-warn America of any self-defensive measures it determines it needs to protect itself from the mullah-crazed, al-Qaim-chaos-seeking maniac across the water from al-Saud-ville…

but WE wade through water stinking and foul from the waste of millions of humans, stuck in it and trying to survive…

So if you can do as 7 others have graciously done, send a small donation to BkkFloodHelp (at) Gmail [dot] com to help keep flood victims alive and hopeful for another week… every little bit helps, thanks!

On a lighter note… *long, long pause* … well, something good’s gotta happen soon, y’all. And as Saddam exclaimed when he saw the armored division racing for Baghdad, “Tanks for the MEMRIS…”

Karridine out
