I don’t know whether any birdwatchers frequent this blog, but I recently attached a bird house to my garage, and it didn’t take long for a commotion to develop, following which construction began.
I just photographed the builder in action, entering the house with twig in beak:
Cute, no?
I have not yet identified the species, but it’s a very small bird. The hole is only about an inch in diameter.
Imagine not having to pay rent or worry about foreclosure!
MORE: My guess is that this is a wren of the genus Troglodytes. As to what species, who knows?
A House Wren! Any bird experts, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
AND MORE: The wren family can rest happy with the knowledge that Coco will keep away all felines. Without charge!

House wren would definitely have been my first guess.

I’m usually on the look out for big breasted white throats. If you want to call one they usually respond to “can I get you a drink honey?”
